I received a sample of Diorskin Nude Skin-Glowing foundation while at Macy’s. When the sales associate asked me to try the foundation my first reaction was not to bother. I have been disappointed by Dior’s foundation color selection before and did not believe I could find a shade that would suit me. Matter of fact, finding a high-end foundation with the correct shade for darker skin tones is usually impossible. But if you ever walked by the makeup counters in any department store, you know how persistent the sales associates can be.
So I gave it a try, and I was pleasantly surprised. The sales associate was able to find the correct shade, and after blending the foundation onto my face. I was hooked. Although, I did not want to purchase right then and there; I was there for a different product and was not going to waiver on that. So she supplied me with a sample and told me to give it a try. Okay, doesn’t hurt to try 🙂
Well, I am glad that I did. I have not stop using it since I got the sample and after I write this post I am headed to the mall to pick up the foundation, and to thank the sales associate for giving me such good advice.
On to the review:
New Diorskin Nude boasts 100% Natural Active ingredients and an extended shade range to recreate the look of naturally, flawless bare-skin in every light. Its new formula improves the natural radiance and beauty of the skin day after day. A Hydrating fluid foundation that delivers just the right amount of coverage to create a naturally flawless, bare-skin effect.
What else you need to know:
This formula is composed of mineralized water enriched with an exclusive and natural floral water that offers hydration, radiance, and elasticity to the skin. Unlike most foundations that use opaque pigments and create a mask-like effect, Diorskin Nude Foundation uses exclusive Nude-Glow pigments that are translucent. They allow the skin’s natural radiance and color to shine through, appearing luminous in any light.
Price: $48.00 (ouch!!)
I applied the foundation with my Sigma Flat Kabuki – F80 Brush. I took some foundation and dotted on my face (basically the T-Zone area) then blended with the F80 brush. I then set the foundation with Laura Mercier’s Universal Invisible Setting Powder. The finish is natural with a little glow.
Adds luminosity to the skin
Doesn’t make my skin oily or dry it out
Wears well throughout the day (no touch-ups)
Color selection needs improvement. Although, I did find my match I believe I got the darkest shade.
The Diorskin Nude Skin-Glowing foundation; in my opinion, behaves like a tinted moisturizer but with a little more coverage. The foundation is beautiful, gives a healthy glow, looks natural and blends like a dream. It allows my natural skin to shine through. While I went for a light coverage, the foundation is buildable for a medium coverage.
I really like this foundation and would recommend it to those who are looking for a foundation with a light natural coverage. This foundation is perfect if you are looking to even out your complexion and cover up any minor blemishes and discoloration.
It’s a great foundation for daily use, and because of its beautiful, skin-like finish, it would make a great foundation for events.
BTW: The cost of beauty – Foundation $48 + Brush $18 + Powder $35 = $101
